Let
me tell you about myself
I maintain
my studio in Dallas, TX. I have a M. A., in Art Education from the
University of North Texas and taught art in Dallas public schools
for 20 years. I have worked in many media. However, since the late
1970's, when I first tried it, clay sculpture has been my favorite.
My work has been well received: It has been accepted into numerous
juried shows over the years, and won several awards, including a couple
of "Best of Show" awards. It is represented in private collections
in Albany, Boston, Sacramento, Philadelphia, Chicago, as well as Dallas.
Among my commissions is a bronze sculpture of a lamb installed at
the Dallas Zoo, and my latest, a relief with 7 animals installed at
the new facility for the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
in McKinney, TX. My work is largely figurative. The subjects that
interest me vary, but among my favorites are human figure studies,
African American portrait busts, birds, and animals. I like groupings
of three or more animals -- lizards, frogs and turtles in particular.
The limited
editions are cast in pigmented resin, cold cast bronze resin, outdoor
casting medium, or bronze.
