The
Wall of Honor was commissioned by the Society of
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Texas to honor the donors whose
generosity made their new facility at McKinney, Texas possible.
The background of this bronze sculpture is based on the design of
the wrought iron gates of the holding pens in the new facility.
The name of the donors of the sculpture, appears on the large brass
plaque located above the smaller plaques that list those honored
by the sculpture. Below those are relief sculptures in bronze of
the animals who benifit from their generosity: a puppy, lamb, cat,
kitten, large dog, rabbit and small dachshound. All of the animals,
except the lamb and dachshound, (our family pet,) were modeled from
shelter animals.
It is located
on the right wall of the entry to the SPCA of TX campus in McKinney.
