Flower Frog starts with a press-mold casting, done in terracotta clay. While the clay is still wet, the texture of the pattern is added, then the sculpture is fired. The flowers and leaves are then painted in and the final patina applied. Since the texture and painting are hand done, no two sculptures are exactly the same. The sculpture can be finished with texture only, which is more economical. The lead time is from 6 weeks to two months because of additional drying and firing time. Currently Flower Frog and Kiss Frog are not available as limited editions, but perhaps in the future they may be.
