FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DEBUT OF A VIRTUAL EXHIBITION OF SCULPTURE
March 22, 2002 (Dallas, TX) - Jaynes Sculpture announced today the eagerly awaited debut of its new web-site exhibition of 20 original sculptures now available in limited edition castings in a choice of materials and finishes. The site is the first opportunity for the general public to view some of the latest works by the popular Dallas-based artist Mary Jean Jaynes. "We are so excited to finally be able to provide limited edition castings of some of our more popular pieces" said Ms. Jaynes. "We hope that our new site and the limited editions will put my work within reach of a wider audience and make it easier and more affordable for our clients to acquire the original sculptures they want," she added.
Visitors to www.sculpture2view.com can enjoy an exhibition of these original sculptures without leaving their desks. The photo exhibition provides high quality images of the artist's award winning work, and includes sculptures of animals and people in a wide range of sizes and materials. The gallery displays thumbnail images of each piece including figure studies, reliefs, and portraits. Clicking on any thumbnail image brings the viewer to other views and in-depth information about that piece.
Readers may have seen an interview with the sculptor on a webcast or television recently. She appeared regionally on both "About Town" with Cathy Whiteman on the Irving Community Channel, and "Metroplex Today" with Cheryl Nason, on the Arlington Community Channel. Ms. Jaynes holds a Masters Degree from the University of North Texas and has worked in the Dallas area for the past twenty-five years, but her art has found a wide audience among collectors throughout the country. Her sculpture can be found in private collections in Albany, Boston, Sacramento, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Dallas, among other locations but, until recently, the artist's work has largely been a private affair with numerous projects commissioned by individuals for specific needs. She is, however, represented in the public sector by a sculpture of a Lamb, which has been a part of the children's section of the Dallas Zoo since 1988.
Ms. Jaynes works on an intimate scale, making her sculptures ideal for home, garden or office. Several of her commissions came from clients who wanted to add a personal statement to their décor by including a unique sculpture of a subject that had personal significance for them. Whether Ms. Jaynes is creating for a specific commission or working from her own ideas, her work is beautifully crafted and compelling.
These highly collectible sculptures can be viewed at www.sculpture2view.com. Curtis Floth designed the new web-site with a focus on simplicity and convenience. The site provides clear navigation menus that stay with you as you move about the gallery. Each sculpture is clearly described and illustrated. The images are sharp and large enough to show the detail of the sculpture without taking forever to download.
